NCWCD to observe international bio-diversity day

The National Commission of Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD) will observe tomorrow the International Day of Biological Diversity, this year with the slogan: ‘Biodiversity: Life Insurance for our Changing World’. NCWCD Secretary-General Dr Abdulaziz Abu-Zinadah commented that Saudi Arabia is a signatory of the International Treaty on Conservation of Biological Diversity, one of 178 countries that have pledged to prevent bio-diversity loss. Under the directives of Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, who chairs NCWCD, the Kingdom’s strategy for conservation is implemented by a number of ministries, and a number of preserves have been set up to protect rare and endangered species.
