SHAIKH ABDULAZIZ AL-SHAIKH, GRAND MUFTI OF SAUDI ARABIA AND CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL OF SENIOR RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS ISSUED A STATEMENT CONDEMNING THE TERROR BOMBING IN RIYADH LAST WEEK, DECLARING IT A, QUOTE, “FORBIDDEN AND SINFUL ACT.”

NAIL AL-JUBEIR, DIRECTOR OF THE SAUDI INFORMATION OFFICE:

It is appalling that criminals have distorted Islam for such wicked ends.  They are acting upon a misguided interpretation that is championed by Al-Qaeda alone and condemned by Muslims worldwide.  Our religious establishment has taught and is continuing to teach principles of tolerance and moderation to our people.  The religious establishment has demonstrated that it is the body most competent and effective at de-legitimizing Al-Qaeda’s cultist ideology.

I’M RISE JILL MILLER.
