Shura Chairman denounces extremism in Islamabad sermon

Chairman of the Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura) Shaikh Saleh bin Humaid, who is on a visit to Pakistan, led Friday prayers today at the Grand Faisal Mosque in Islamabad and strongly denounced extremism and violence in his sermon. Perpetrators of violence and extremism, he declared, fail to achieve their objective, since policies cannot be changed by using them. Stressing the need for unity, love and affection, he advocated that non-Muslims be given the right to differ, and that there should be constructive debate and dialogue amongst all peoples.
