Makkah Governor inspects preparations for 1424 Hajj

Governor of Makkah Province Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdulaziz, in his capacity as Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, today carried out a tour of the holy places to inspect preparations for the upcoming 1424 Hajj season. The tour included the projects for flood drainage, transport services, health facilities and a charitable food center. Prince Abdulmajeed was accompanied by Minister of Pilgrimage Iyad Madani, Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Manie, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Muhammad Mulla, and Minister of Transport Jubarah Al-Suraiseri.

Meanwhile, as of yesterday evening, a total of 335,000 pilgrims had arrived in Madinah, and 120,000 of them have already left for Makkah. Also, the first batch of 700 pilgrims left Russia today in an overland caravan of buses. Over 5,000 Russian pilgrims are expected to perform this year's Hajj, 1,300 more than last year.
