Kingdom strengthens ties with Sweden during visit of Crown Princess Victoria

Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh yesterday Sweden's Heir Apparent, Crown Princess Victoria Ingrid, with whom he reviewed bilateral cooperation between the two countries as well as the international situation. The Crown Princess attended the ceremony yesterday when a general agreement on Saudi-Swedish economic and industrial cooperation was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal and Swedish Minister of International Economic Affairs and Financial Markets Gunnar Lund. The volume of trade between Saudi Arabia and Sweden reached SR 1,523 million [U.S. $ 406.68 million] in the year 2002. The Kingdom's exports were SR 32 million [$ 8.54 million] while its imports from Sweden amounted to SR 1,491 million [$ 398.13 million].

During her visit, Crown Princess Victoria held talks with a number of ministers and Saudi officials, including Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Secretary-General of the Supreme Commission for Tourism Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Hashim Yamani, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Muhammad Mulla, Minister of Water and Electricity Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaibi, Minister of Transport Dr. Jubarah Al-Suraiseri, and Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf.
