Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal left Cairo today for Damascus, where he delivered to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad a message from Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz before returning to Riyadh. During his visit to Cairo he delivered a message from the Crown Prince to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and held talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Maher and Secretary General of the Arab league Amr Mousa, with whom he reviewed the re-structuring of the League of Arab States as well as the latest developments in Iraq and in the Palestinian territories.

In a press statement following his meeting yesterday with President Mubarak, Prince Saud said that there had been agreement on coordination in presenting ideas for reform at the next Arab summit. The committee formed by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to discuss initiatives to reform the Arab situation, he said, will hold a meeting next week.
