Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz, in his capacity as Chairman of the Higher Committee for Hajj, today conducted an inspection tour of the holy places to be reassured that all preparations had been made for the pilgrims to perform the 1424 Hajj in comfort and ease. In an impromptu speech, Prince Nayef spoke of the honor of serving the pilgrims, called for strict implementation of pilgrimage regulations, and expressed the wish that all pilgrims perform their rituals in peace and return to their homes in safety.

Meanwhile, it was announced that since yesterday morning, 13,717 pilgrims had visited health centers in Makkah, but only 2,859 of them were emergencies. Commenting on bird flu, Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Manie' stated that it was unlikely that any pilgrim had entered the Kingdom suffering from this disease, and gave assurances that all precautions had been taken to prevent any infectious disease.
