Seven killed in shoot-out in Riyadh during arrest of terrorist suspect

The Ministry of Interior has announced that six security officers were killed in a shoot-out yesterday morning in Riyadh during the arrest of a terrorist suspect. The father of the wanted man, who was helping the security officers, was also killed, and two other security officers sustained injuries. A number of other suspects were also apprehended. Security forces had received information on the presence of weapons and explosives in the residence of the wanted suspect, and a team was dispatched to search the house. Two hand grenades, two machine guns and five pistols were found. During the search, the house came under fire from unknown individuals, and led to the seven fatalities. Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz today performed funeral prayers for those slain.
