Prince Alwaleed proposes Microsoft operation for Kingdom

The Kingdom Holding Company and Microsoft have expressed interest in expanding Microsoft’s operations in Saudi Arabia, following a recent discussion between Kingdom Holding Company Chairman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates. A follow-up meeting with Microsoft-Arabia General Manager Dr. Khaled Al-Dhaher explored areas of potential cooperation. In addition to expanding information technology, it was agreed that the Kingdom Holding Company and Microsoft-Arabia would pool resources to fund select humanitarian projects in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Gates and Prince Alwaleed have previously pledged donations to a number of charities including the Carter Center's African programs.
