SABIC’s research and development complex extended

Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz inaugurated in Riyadh yesterday the extension of the Industrial Complex for Research and Development of the Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). In his address, he praised SABIC’s efforts to consolidate its position in the global market by supplying quality products, commenting that the research complex demonstrates its commitment to modernizing its products in line with technological and marketing developments in order to ensure competitiveness and superiority in international markets. He also praised SABIC's efforts in training and employing young Saudis, observing that 62 percent of the scientists, researchers and technical experts at the complex are Saudi.

In the nine years since its establishment, the Research and Development Center has achieved remarkable progress. SABIC, which ranks 11th in the list of the world's top petrochemical companies, has set up technical centers in the United States, Europe and India as well as at Jubail Industrial City, and in addition to the central industrial laboratory in Riyadh. These centers have registered a total of 365 patents.
