Meanwhile, the Saudi-Azeri Joint Commission is continuing its talks in Riyadh under the chairmanship of First Deputy Premier Ayyubov and Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Hashim Yamani. Agreement has been reached on a number of recommendations, including an increase in trade between the two countries, formation of a joint business council, and allocation of land for the headquarters of a Saudi Cultural Center in Baku.
In his address to the inaugural session of the talks, Dr. Yamani stressed the importance of cementing Saudi-Azerbaijani relations, pointing out that the two countries are linked with bonds of Islam and history, and urging Saudi businessmen to contribute to boosting trade exchange between the two countries.
