Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh today Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom Jack Straw, who arrived yesterday on a visit to the Kingdom. Secretary Straw was also received by Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, and held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal. At a press conference today with Secretary Straw and British Ambassador to the Kingdom Sherard Cowper-Coles, Prince Saud Al-Faisal confirmed that the ties binding the two countries are firm, close and deep-rooted. For example, he said, the two countries share identical viewpoints on Iraq, and are ready to help make Iraq a stable and prosperous country. Secretary Straw also met today with Chairman of the Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura) Shaikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, who noted that relations between the two country had been established on mutual respect and common interest.
