Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland Prince Turki Al-Faisal is heading the Kingdom’s delegation to the sessions of the World Economic Forum currently being held in Amman, Jordan. On the agenda are the latest political developments in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and the Palestinian territories, as well as economic and energy issues.

In a speech today, Prince Turki referred to the extent of the reform that Saudi Arabia has achieved, compatible with Shariah (Islamic Law) and Saudi traditions, and covering political participation and women's contribution to development as well as education and other fields. Reform, he declared, should emanate from the region and not from foreign influence.
