Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, at a press conference yesterday following the reception held in his honor by the Province of Makkah, declared that the security situation in the Kingdom is excellent. Asked about reports accusing Saudi Arabia of helping terrorism, he pointed out the lack of logic in this, since the Kingdom itself has suffered a great deal from acts of terrorism.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry reported a limited explosion at nine o'clock on Saturday morning inside a taxi traveling along a Jeddah street. The taxi driver, who had a hand injury, was arrested and taken to hospital. Although the incident is still under investigation, it is thought to be drug-related, since the driver has a criminal record with eight previous convictions for drug use.
