Minister of Health Dr Hamad Al-Mane' arrived in Islamabad yesterday for a three-day official visit to Pakistan, part of an exchange of high-level visits between the two countries. During the visit, which reflects the cooperation that exists between the Saudi and Pakistani health sectors, Dr Al-Mane’ will be received by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, hold talks with health officials, and tour a number of facilities, including Pakistan’s Institute of Medical Sciences.
At a press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Nasir Khan, Dr Al-Mane’ confirmed that Saudi Arabia is interested in benefiting from Pakistan's experience in producing pharmaceuticals, including vaccines, as well as in training medical personnel and conducting research. Part of the cooperation, he said, means more Pakistani doctors working in the Kingdom. He added that Saudi Arabia is already importing high-quality medicines from Pakistan.
