Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz reiterated his concern about the vicious campaign against Islam and the Prophet Muhammad, who represents the best of mankind. The Crown Prince, speaking today at a ceremony laying the foundation stone for the second phase of King Saud University City, went on to say: "As long as we are going in the right direction, we should never care about such biased campaigns." He urged the Kingdom's banks to make positive contributions to the financing of the proposed fund for scientific research, and voiced support for the proposal of Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz that certain research efforts be funded by, and named for, businessmen and companies.

Crown Prince Abdullah also issued directives to the Minister of Finance and National Economy to include support of scientific research in the agenda of the meeting to be held later today of the Supreme Economic Council, as proposed by Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz.
