Health minister praises Kingdom's medical services

Minister of Health Dr. Osama Shobokshi, at the inaugural ceremony yesterday of the Kingdom's 16th annual ophthalmology conference, coinciding with the 20th symposium of King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH), praised the excellence of Saudi Arabia's medical services. Head of the Ophthalmology Society Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, in his speech, reported that the society works with the Ministry of Health and the Faculty of Medicine at King Saud University as well as the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital. It is expected that the conference will be attended by 900 delegates not only from Saudi Arabia, but from other member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), several Arab and Muslim countries, the United States, Germany and Belgium. This year's main topic is glaucoma, with discussion on cornea and cataract surgical procedures, developments in plastic surgery, and the use of lasers in treating sight problems.
