Crown Prince Abdullah inspects Red Sea shrimp farm

Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz returned to Jeddah today from a visit to a shrimp farm in the area of Al-Laith on the Red Sea, where he inaugurated the first phase of the complex constructed for the National Shrimp Company. In a speech on the occasion, Minister of Agriculture Dr. Abdullah bin Muammar spoke of the Crown Prince's continued support for agricultural and fisheries investment in Jizan Province and on the Tihama plain. The new shrimp farm has a production capacity of 30,000 tons per year, most of which is being exported. Prior to his departure, the Crown Prince referred to the project as a symbol of national investment and a tribute to private sector support for the economy, and urged Saudi businessmen to keep their capital inside the Kingdom through investment for the benefit of all. The government, he said, will continue to promote the interests of investors, such as facilitating soft loans and providing services.
