KACST to process authentication of digital signatures

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has signed a contract with Moammer Information Systems (MIS) to set up a Saudi Center for Digital Authentication. This will provide essential security for Internet users, especially for online transactions, both commercial and non-commercial. By authenticating digital signatures, the Center will enable Internet users to identify themselves online, and to sign documents in a safe and secure environment. The authentication of digital signatures is an important element of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), and its lack has hindered the growth of e-commerce in the Kingdom.
