Information minister at Arab conference in Cairo

Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Fouad Al-Farsi addressed the 36th conference of Arab information ministers in Cairo today, and affirmed the Kingdom's great efforts through all possible channels to combat terrorism under any pretext, declaring that this evil phenomenon targets everybody. Dr. Al-Farsi noted that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz had expressed this clearly on many occasions, notably in his recent speech to the Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura) in which he stated that the Saudi people, staunch in their belief in Islam, reject terrorism in all its forms and will not allow a small number of terrorists with deviant thinking to harm the safety of the country. Minister Al-Farsi stressed the need for awareness and vigilance, and understanding of what is being circulated in foreign mass media in order to deal wisely with it, taking the good and ignoring the bad. He went on to speak of the importance of maintaining the Arab identity as the world witnesses rapid political, military and ideological changes.
