Kingdom condemns Israeli decision on Arafat at UN session

Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to the United Nations Ambassador Fawzi Shobokshi, in a speech yesterday at a Security Council session on the situation in the Middle East, reiterated the Kingdom's condemnation of Israel's decision to "expel" from the Palestinian territories President of the Palestinian National Authority Yasser Arafat. Ambassador Shobokshi stressed that this decision will lead to total collapse of the peace process, and that the move is in violation of international law and United Nations resolutions. He added that Saudi Arabia calls on the international community to exert all possible efforts to confront Israeli policies that aim at usurping the legitimate will of the Palestinian people.
