Kingdom continues relief aid to Chechens as well as Iraqis

Another aid convoy arrived in Baghdad today, sent by the Saudi Committee for the Relief of the Iraqi People. The convoy, which crossed from Saudi Arabia at the Arar-Jadeida border point, contained medical supplies and medical equipment. To date, the committee has sent to Iraq about 361 trucks loaded with over SR 63.13 million [U.S. $ 16.86 million] worth of relief materials.


Meanwhile, the Saudi Red Crescent Society has distributed to students at its school in a camp for Chechen refugees located in the Republic of Ingushetia, 500 school bags containing all student requirements, and 5,518 notebooks for students. Distribution of these items, sufficient for one year, coincides with the start of the academic year.
