Health ministry prepares for 1423 Hajj season

Preparations for the 1423 Hajj season by the Ministry of Health include plans for the presence on the ground of fully-equipped medical rescue teams to provide emergency services in the vicinity of the area of the stone-throwing ritual. In addition, there will be an increased number of medical centers offering a wide range of treatment. It has been estimated that nearly half of the pilgrims annually seek assistance from these centers, which are scattered throughout the holy shrines. In addition, precautionary measures will be taken to avert the spread of epidemic diseases not only by ensuring that pilgrims are inoculated with the necessary vaccines but also through monitoring the quality of the food and drinking water, and inspecting the garbage disposal locations in order to avoid the accumulation of waste that gives rise to pollution and the spread of disease.
