Women's branch of MWL meets in Jeddah

At a meeting of the board of trustees of the International Committee of Muslim Women, an affiliate of the Muslim World League (MWL), Secretary-General Dr. Bahija Azzi observed that the Muslim family is facing serious challenges that are influencing its doctrine and culture and undermining its Islamic values and orientation. She commented that unfortunately many families have no defense to face up to those sweeping changes, and urged the various organizations, foundations and establishments to coordinate efforts in this respect. She also called for qualifying Muslim women through training programs in coordination with concerned international bodies. Meanwhile, the board of trustees discussed the possibility of publishing an international magazine to address the issues of Muslim women and proposed the establishment of an integrated information center to deal with women's affairs.
