Oil minister attends energy forum in Osaka

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi announced today at the conclusion of the three-day session in Osaka, Japan, of the Eighth International Energy Forum, that the Kingdom's capital city of Riyadh has been formally declared home for the Forum's general secretariat. The establishment of such a secretariat was proposed by Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz during the Forum's seventh session in Riyadh in 2000; and the announcement coincides with the Kingdom's National Day. On Saturday, Minister Al-Naimi gave an address to a seminar entitled 'Expanding Energy Frontiers', organized ahead of the Forum by the Institute of Energy Economics of Japan.
