Islamic literature prizes announced

The International Islamic Literature League (IILL) today announced the names of the prize winners for the best translations into Arabic of contemporary Islamic literature in the fields of novels, short stories and poetry. For novels, the first prize went to Kamal Khoja for his translation from Turkish of 'Bee Kingdom' by Ali Nar; second prize to Dr. Awni Lotfi for his translation from Turkish of 'Hopes became pains' by Dr. Noorallah King; and third prize to Othman Abudanah for his translation from Farsi of 'The freedom planet' by Mahmood Hokaimi. For short stories, first prize was won by Dr. Alsifsafi Al-Morsi Al-Qattoori for his translation from Turkish of 'The moral and other stories' by Bashar Kamal. For poetry, the first prize went to Dr. Abdulrazzaq Barakat for his translation from Turkish of the collected works 'Peace' by Najeeb Fadhel.
