Prince Sultan attends wildlife reception

Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, who also chairs the National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD) yesterday attended the second reception for the wildlife support fund, to which he donated SR 3 million [U.S. $ 0.8 million]. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz donated SR 5 million [$ 1.34 million] to the fund, and Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah donated SR 3 million [$ 0.8 million]. In his speech, Prince Sultan highlighted the great efforts exerted by the Saudi government to preserve the environment while carrying out development projects, saying that the Kingdom has earned a good reputation in this field.  Although many wildlife projects are government funded, there is still need for private sector financing, and Prince Sultan urged all concerned parties to cooperate for preservation of the environment and to contribute to the wildlife fund.
