Phosphate deposit discovered in the north

The Saudi Arabian Mining Company 'Maadin' has discovered a deposit of phosphate amounting to some 400 million tons in an area in the north of the Kingdom. The company is currently developing sites at Umm Al-Jalameed and Umm Al-Iyal, producing 4.5 million tons a year of phosphates from 11.2 million tons of ore.
