Finance minister addresses IMF/WB development committee

Minister of Finance and National Economy Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf yesterday addressed the biannual meeting of the joint development committee of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington DC, and praised the IMF's concern in supporting developing countries on issues of global trade. He observed that although many developing countries have benefited greatly from trade globalization, there are still a number of low-income countries that have not yet enjoyed this prosperity. He urged the World Bank to provide these developing countries with technical and research assistance to effectively enhance their human and technical potential.

Dr. Al-Assaf today met with South African Minister of Finance Trevor Manoyel, who is also attending the biannual joint IMF-WB talks.
