Agfund reviews problem of street children

Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of AGFUND (the Arab Gulf Programme for United Nations Development Organizations), chairing the preparatory committee in Cairo for development of resources for combating the phenomenon of street children and its adverse impact on society, declared that taking care of this category of children is a religious duty for all, but especially for Islam; and referred to the problem of street children as one of the most dangerous of modern times. Children who stray, he said, are exposed to moral deviation and exploitation by evil people for smuggling drugs and committing crimes.
