Concerning the recent series of bombing incidents in certain Saudi cities, he said that the reasons for them are known, and those responsible are known; and that investigations will be completed in due time, with the cases referred to the courts. He emphasized that these incidents had no political connections, but were rather a settlement of accounts among people involved in illegal activities. He denied, however, the existence of any organized crime in the Kingdom, noting that the issue of illegal drugs hurts Saudi Arabia, with international gangs attempting to smuggle them in.
