Saudi Aramco reveals plans for oil and gas projects

Saudi Aramco has announced that over the next five years it will embark on vast development projects worth over U.S. $15 billion. In addition to expansion of crude oil production, Aramco will, in response to the anticipated increase in demand for natural gas in the Kingdom, expand the capacity of the Master Gas System from 3.7 to 7.8  billion square cubic feet per day (scfd). Saudi Aramco's efforts to find new associated gas sources has resulted in the discovery of about 30 trillion scfd in the last few years. Exploration for other gas sources is now focused on the South Ghawar, Berri and Qatif fields in the Eastern Province.
