Council of ministers meeting

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz today chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, and congratulated the Republic of Yemen on the anniversary of its reunification, describing the current visit to Yemen by Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz as reflecting the depth and firmness of the relations between the two countries.

The cabinet then reviewed the latest developments in the region, and once more condemned Israel's continued outrageous, brutal and oppressive aggression against innocent citizens in the occupied Palestinian territories, calling on the international community to intervene to protect the Palestinian people from this savage aggression in which various kinds of lethal weapons are being used to kill people and destroy their property; to activate the relevant United Nations resolutions 242, 338 and 194; and to endeavor to find mechanisms for achieving security and stability in the Middle East region.
Turning to domestic affairs, the cabinet passed a number of resolutions, including the establishment of new safety measures at propane gas filling stations, as endorsed by the Shura Council; authorization for the Minister of Foreign Affairs or his deputy to sign a draft agreement with the Republic of Tanzania for cooperation in the areas of economy, commerce, investment, technology, sports and youth; and approval of agreements on cooperation in youth and sports with the Argentine Republic.
