New oil well discovered in Eastern Province

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi announced today that the Saudi Arabian Oil Company 'Saudi Aramco' has tapped into a new oil well in the Eastern Province with a daily capacity of almost 1,100 barrels of high-grade Arab crude and 1.6 million cubic feet of associated sweet gas. Minister Al-Naimi explained that Jefin Number 1 was drilled on June 13, and that it is the ninth in that area, located in the south of the Al-Ghawwar oil field. The full quantity of the well is still under estimation.
