GCC approves King Fahd Award

At their 10th meeting in Manama, Bahrain, the ministers in charge of cultural affairs of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) today approved the setting up of the King Fahd Initiative Award, to be granted annually to GCC citizens who make outstanding contributions to their society. Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Deputy President of Youth Welfare, who headed the Kingdom's delegation to the meeting, recalled that the idea was proposed by the late Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz in 1998.
