King Fahd honors heroes of hijacked plane incident

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, as Supreme Commander of the Saudi Armed Forces, in Jeddah yesterday honored the Assistant Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz with the King Faisal Medal, First Class, in recognition of his role in the successful operation of freeing the crew and passengers of the hijacked Russian plane at the airport in Madinah last March. King Fahd also decorated a number of others involved in the rescue. Introducing the rescue squad to Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz paid tribute to the men's bravery, saying: "They are a source of pride to their religion, their King and their people."
