Prince Sultan speaks out on Environment Day

Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, who also heads the ministerial environment committee, today spoke out on the occasion of International Environment Day on June 5, saying that the Kingdom has shown its concern for the environment through adherence to Islamic principles, and referring to the declaration issued by the first international environment forum held recently in Jeddah. The Saudi government, he added, had adopted a number of measures to ensure the best use of the country's natural resources, and, through the Meteorology and Environmental Protection Authority (MEPA), had played a significant role in the region by its commitment to international agreements on ecology.
