GCC interior ministers hold second consultative session

Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz led the Kingdom's delegation to the Second Consultative Meeting of the interior ministers of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Manama today. Bahraini interior minister Shaikh Muhammad bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, chairing the meeting, said the gathering has special importance in view of the seriously accelerating incidents in the region. Following the meeting, GCC Secretary-General Jameel bin Ibrahim Al-Hujeilan read a communiqué calling for immediate activation of the resolutions of the GCC Supreme Council. The statement said the ministers had exchanged viewpoints on the latest developments in the region and expressed satisfaction at the GCC's progress towards the collective security of its members. The statement also expressed support for the resolutions related to the free movement of GCC citizens, exchange of goods, and the campaign against drugs and organized crime.


Meanwhile, Prince Nayef paid a visit to Shaikh Muhammad bin Salman Al-Khalifa, who is hospitalized at the military hospital in Bahrain.
