Hajj minister talks about new umrah rules

Minister of Pilgrimage Iyad Madani, who is currently on a visit to the United Kingdom, today addressed a meeting of representatives of the British Muslim community at the Saudi Embassy in London, and explained that according to the new regulations for umrah (the minor pilgrimage) the Kingdom will be able to accommodate 10 million pilgrims each year over the next five or six years, compared to about 1.5 million formerly. The new regulations, he said, will give umrah performers more time to enjoy visiting Makkah, Madinah and other historic places.
