Prince Saud Al-Faisal on visit to U.K.

Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal left London yesterday after a one-day visit to the United Kingdom. Prior to his departure he met with his British counterpart Jack Straw and discussed issues of mutual concern, notably the Middle East peace process. Earlier, he held talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, to whom he conveyed greetings from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz and the leadership of Saudi Arabia, with the message that the Kingdom is concerned about the situation in the Middle East and looks forward to the role that could be played by the European countries towards peace in the region. He stated that peace in the Middle East "needs a push from outside, particularly by western countries that share distinguished relations with Israel, whose stance will not lead to peace without such a push."
