Saudi national soccer team coach sacked

The Saudi Football Federation announced yesterday that Yugoslav national Slobodan Santrac has been sacked as coach of the Kingdom's national soccer team, in view of the team's disappointing results against Iran and Bahrain in the Asian zone World Cup qualifying matches. Assistant coach Nasser Al-Jawaher will take over for the remainder of the tournament. Santrac was the team's fifth coach since 1998.
