Populace asked to look out for new crescent moon

The Supreme Judicial Council has urged all Muslims in the Kingdom to look out for the new crescent moon for the lunar month of Dhu Al-Hajjah starting Thursday evening, February 22 (Dhu Al-Qadah 28, 1421), and on Friday February 23 (Dhu Al-Qadah 29, 1421).

Meanwhile, Governor of Makkah Province Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdulaziz, as head of the Central Hajj Committee, today affirmed that all services were ready for the guests of God after conducting an inspection tour of the Holy Sites. As of yesterday, a total of 762,249 pilgrims had arrived in the Kingdom, 719,105 by air, 32,728 overland, and 10,416 by sea. A report from Madinah shows that 166,169 pilgrims there have been given meningitis vaccinations, and that leaflets on health awareness have been distributed.
