The Seventh International Energy Forum will be hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in Riyadh from November 17 to 19, 2000. Participating will be heads of international organizations as well as oil and energy ministers. The forum, one of the most important internationally, will focus on the relationship between the producing and consuming countries, and offer a unique opportunity for dialogue. There will be four sessions, and topics to be covered include the global oil market, the future of oil as a source of energy, sustainable development, and the restructuring of the petroleum industry. Official delegations will enjoy a full program, including a tour of the Al-Shaybah oilfield [in the southeast of the Kingdom] as well as opportunities for Muslims to perform umrah and visit the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah.
