A three-day international economic conference organized by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu in collaboration with the International Development Association was opened Monday evening by Governor of the Eastern Province Prince Muhammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz. In his address, Prince Muhammad referred to the Kingdom's adoption of a comprehensive strategy for economic reform, including the establishment of the Supreme Council for Petroleum and Mineral Affairs, the Supreme Economic Council, the Supreme Commission for Tourism, and the new regulations for investment and real-estate acquisition by non-Saudis.

 Yesterday's four sessions covered the topics 'Saudi Arabia in the 21st Century', 'Managing the largest desalination company in the world', 'Economics and Globalization: Saudi Arabia and the WTO', and 'Vast projects in the field of developing natural resources'.
