U.S. President greets Muslims on occasion of Eid Al-Fitr

On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr 1421, the White House released a press statement today in which U.S. President Bill Clinton congratulated all Muslims inside the United States and abroad. He noted that American Muslims, whether born in the country or immigrants from Africa, the Middle East, Asia or Europe, constitute a sector whose importance has been increasing. Other Americans, he said, are beginning to realize the significance of Ramadan and its prayers and fasting, remarking that America has become stronger due to Islamic values such as family obligations and sympathy with the poor. President Clinton expressed the hope that the New Year would be one of peace and concord.
