Press comments on sanctions against OPEC

Commenting on the resolution of the United States Congress to impose sanctions against member states of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) that have reduced oil supplies in the market in order to regain their rights in seeking reasonable oil prices, Al-Riyadh newspaper published in the capital said that if international trade is to be run by means of threats, boycott and imposition of the principle of force, then the meaning of trade freedom is being reversed and it should be interpreted as trade war. The paper explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not seek to destroy its positive links with America but it sees that concepts of relations should be set up on the stances of friendships and affirmation of interests.
