Kingdom's Internet rates cut by one third

The Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) announced yesterday a 33 percent cut in Internet charges, which drop to 5 halalas from 7.5 halalas per minute. The new rates will take effect July 1. Also reduced by one third are charges for leased circuits for transmission of information, a move that is expected to further reduce the rates charged to customers by internet service providers, and which will be of great benefit to the business sector.
