Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz today received Iranian Minister of Economic and Financial Affairs Dr. Hassan Namazi, who presented to him a message from President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sayyed Muhammad Khatami. Dr. Namazi also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz.

Dr. Namazi later attended the general assembly of the Islamic Institution for the Development of the Private Sector, a newly-formed affiliate of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), where he was elected deputy chairman of the board of directors. Minister of Finance and National Economy Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf was elected chairman. The board of IIDPS will hold its first meeting on August 5, 2000. Its consultative panel includes former deputy presidents of the World Bank Ibrahim Shahata and Mu'een Guraishi, and member of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Amro Al-Dabbagh.
