Saudi company exporting optical fibers

The Middle East Optic Fiber and Cable Manufacturing Company (MEFC), a Saudi-U.S. joint venture, has received major orders for over 20,000 kilometers of single-mode optical fibers, half for the United States and half for South Korea. The fibers are of the standard telecommunications grade used extensively in information technology. The orders reflect the Kingdom's ability to export high-tech products to the world's most advanced countries.
