Officials rule out suspicion of crime in explosion near Jeddah

Director of Jeddah Province Police Brigadier-General Saleh Bin Ibrahim Al-Olayan declared today that investigations have shown that the explosion incident at Bahra, near Jeddah, was an accident, and that there is no suspicion of a crime involved. The grenade that exploded is one of those used in military training and operations, and it was brought to the site of the accident by one of the injured children.
Meanwhile, Governor of Makkah Province Prince Abdulmajeed Bin Abdul Aziz has expressed condolences to the relatives of the three children who died in the incident. He visited the site of the accident yesterday, and inspected the area, before proceeding to the King Khalid National Guard Hospital to visit the three children who survived the explosion. The injured children were visited on Saturday by Interior Minister Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz, who also extended condolences to the bereaved families.
